The farm

Started in 2018, Lettuce Tree Farms is an urban agriculture company serving Cleveland Ohio and the surrounding area.

At LTF, our main focus is growing better food locally, through the design and construction of high efficiency Vertical Farming systems that can be placed in any environment.

Our first, full scale Shipping Container farm is currently being updated and expanded with limited production through 2022.

With our many partners we are moving forward with our development and operation of a year round growing facility capable of growing 2-3 acres of produce and vegies in less than an 1/20th of one acre.

You can find us innovating and advancing farming technology every day, alongside the Ingenuity Cleveland Hamilton Collaborative.

History

initial design:

3 Shipping Container Farm Unit

-In 2020 We secured funding to develop and build our large scale prototype shipping container farm and began construction. Consisting of three shipping containers, 2nd story deck space, framing and hoop house enclosure, this facility forms the basis of our vertical farming technology and the foundation for all of our work to come.

Shipping COntainer Farm Prototype (2020)

-Since mid 2021, LTF has begun to produce, and operate, from our self contained farm prototype located in Cleveland’s St.Clair-Superior neighborhood. This prototype farm, though smaller than 12 parking spaces, will have the capacity to produce 2-3 acres of produce and vegetables, with year round production, operating off grid when finally completed.

Work continues on our Shipping container farm prototype

-Starting this year (2022), we have partnered with Locality Craft Farms of Canton Ohio, to mutually expand our product offerings and delivery area. We have continued to work on the climate control systems, working spaces, growing systems, and automation technology in our prototype farm with our sights on new investments by the end of the year.
